Academic origin
Fnk was born as an academic project; it was the final graduation project for my Digital Interface Design Bachelor degree at Senac-SP, in São Paulo, Brazil, during the year of 2008.
The proposal paper – where the result of my contextual research was outlined, and the objectives of the project were listed – was finished and handed to the college on May 16, 2008. Only the original Brazilian Portuguese version is available.

The final version of the Fnk paper was finished and handed to the college on November 26, 2008. It included the alpha version of the project (0.1.3654), as well as images, videos and test patches documenting the development process. There are pictures of the actual printed brochure here.
Only the original Brazilian Portuguese version is available, but I’ll translate this into English for reference in the near future. The the commented bibliography is available online, however.

The academic side of the project concluded with a short talk about the project’s development process, as well as its goals, expectations and plans for the future. This presentation was shown to college teachers and colleagues in December 12 2008.

Unfortunately, the presentation was not recorded and the slideshow has no notes, so it may be hard to understand everything from the slides only. I basically talked about what led me to build Fnk, the context in which it would work (online applications taking over), how development went, what kind of features I added to it, a short demonstration of the environment, what was missing from the final thesis version, and its future.
This talk was presented again in December 18, with only a few changes to the slideshow. There’s some pictures of this second presentation here.
